You know those little tasks you do over and over?
Copying information from one place to another. Sending the same follow-up message. Checking a form, updating a spreadsheet, reminding someone, creating a report, answering the same customer question for the hundredth time. Each task may only take a few minutes. The problem is that you keep doing it.
That is where I come in.
I build AI automations and small custom apps for businesses that are tired of wasting time on work that could be handled in a better way. And no, you do not need to understand AI before talking to me. You do not need to know which software you need, either. That part is my job.
So what does an AI automation actually do?
An automation connects the steps in a process so fewer things have to be done by hand. For example, let’s say someone fills out a form on your website. Right now, you might:
- Open the email.
- Copy their information into a spreadsheet.
- Send them a reply.
- Notify someone on your team.
- Set yourself a reminder to follow up.
An automation could handle several of those steps for you. The form comes in. The information goes where it belongs. The customer receives the right response. The right person gets notified. The follow-up gets scheduled. You are still in control. You just aren’t doing every little step yourself.
AI can also help when the work involves reading, organizing, sorting, summarizing, or responding. It might review an incoming request, identify what it is about, draft the appropriate response, and send it to a person for approval.
The goal is not to remove people from the business. The goal is to stop using people for work a computer can handle perfectly well.
I build small apps too
Sometimes an automation is not the answer. Sometimes a business needs a simple tool made for the way it actually works.
That could be:
- A quote calculator
- A customer intake tool
- A scheduling helper
- A simple internal dashboard
- A form that creates a finished document
- A tool that organizes incoming requests
- A small AI assistant trained to handle one specific job
It does not need to become a giant software project. In fact, I would rather build the smallest useful thing that solves the problem. If a simple app can replace a confusing spreadsheet, five browser tabs, and the sticky note currently holding the whole process together, that may be all you need.
Who do I do this for?
I work with small-business owners and small teams.
These are usually people who have already figured out how to get the work done. They are not sitting around waiting for a robot to run their company. They are busy. They have customers to take care of, employees to manage, bills to pay, and a business to keep moving. They have also collected a bunch of manual steps along the way because those steps worked well enough at the time. Eventually, “well enough” starts eating up the day.
You may be a good fit for this if you catch yourself saying things like:
- “I have to copy this over there.”
- “I send this same message all the time.”
- “Everything is in that spreadsheet.”
- “I have to remember to check it.”
- “Only one person knows how to do this.”
- “We lose track of people when things get busy.”
- “There has to be an easier way.”
You do not need a large company or an IT department. You need one annoying process that is costing more time than it should.
Why am I focusing on small businesses?
Because small businesses do not have extra people sitting around with nothing to do. When one person spends hours every week on repeat work, the whole business feels it. That person could be helping a customer, following up on a sale, handling a problem, or going home on time.
AI use among businesses is growing, but smaller companies are still using it less than larger ones. Recent U.S. Census Bureau data found that overall business AI use was around 17% to 20%, while fewer than 20% of businesses with four or fewer employees reported using it. That tells me there are still many small businesses that could benefit but may not know where to begin. (U.S. Census Bureau)
That makes sense. Most owners do not have time to compare AI models, study software platforms, or learn how APIs work. They should not have to. They should be able to explain what keeps happening in their business and have someone help them figure out whether there is a useful fix.
I am not going to tell you that everything should use AI
Some work should stay with a person. If a task requires judgment, empathy, a sensitive conversation, or a decision that could seriously affect someone, AI may only play a supporting role. Sometimes the right answer is a simple automation with a human approval step. Sometimes the process needs to be cleaned up before anything gets built. And sometimes the honest answer is to leave it alone. That is why I start with the process, not the technology.
Responsible AI use also means thinking about accuracy, privacy, oversight, and what happens when the system gets something wrong. The National Institute of Standards and Technology created its AI Risk Management Framework to help organizations consider those issues when designing and using AI systems. (NIST)
I would much rather tell someone that AI is not the right fit than build something complicated that creates a brand-new headache.
Why do I do this?
Because I love helping small businesses grow and I love AI! I love that moment when someone explains a process they have been struggling with and I can suddenly see where the time is disappearing. Sometimes the fix is an AI assistant. Sometimes it is an automation. Sometimes it is a small app built for one specific purpose.
Whatever it is, I want it to make sense to the person using it.
I am not interested in handing someone an impressive-looking system they are afraid to touch. I want to build something useful, show them how it works, hand it over, and let them get back to running their business. No unnecessary bells and whistles. No giant software package when a small tool will do. No pretending AI is magic.
Just a better way to get the work done.
Think There Has to Be an Easier Way?
There probably is.
My “There Has to Be an Easier Way” Assessment is for small-business owners who have a task or process that keeps taking too much time.
You show me what is happening now. I’ll look at the process and help you figure out whether an automation, a small app, or a simpler setup could make it easier.
You do not need to know what software you need. You do not even need to know whether AI is the answer. Just show me the part that keeps making you think, “Why are we still doing it this way?”
The assessment is $297. If you decide to hire me for the build, that $297 is credited toward it.
There is no obligation to build anything afterward. You’ll leave with:
- A written breakdown of the problem
- My recommended approach
- An estimate for what the build would cost
